About us.

Kano Independent Research Centre Trust (KIRCT) was established in 2013 by Pfizer Inc. for the Kano State Government to conduct bio-medical and population-based research on communicable and non-communicable diseases of public health importance in Nigeria, Africa and the global community.

Donors of the project and pharmaceutical giant, Pfizer, built the facility to function as both a primary health facility as well as a complementary tertiary health facility to the already existing health institutions in Kano State.

The Center is administered by a six-member Board appointed by Pfizer Inc. and the Kano State Government. It is chaired by a renowned Professor of infectious and Tropical Diseases, Prof. Abdulrazaq G. Habib.
